mmm, I don't know what's the solution to this, how about trying to create that directory manually and see how it goes ? Also, why do you have a reference to the sparc version of a package when you pasted the info? This can be done through theenvironment variable $TMPDIR. The problem was related to space available in /var/tmp file system.
Then i do an FTP to transfer thefile from the windows machine to the Solaris box. but still i'm getting the same error.
