We have recently migrated several of our printers from a Windows Server 2003 to a Windows Server 2008 Print Server (64-Bit) R2. I just switch to the opposite drive. The print job is spooled from the machine to the print server and then down to the printer, the printer then prints out on a single page only 'PCL XL error' Sounds like a driver issue on the Windows 7 machines.
