I have had problems like this before. After the checking of five hard drives the error message still appears. The main drive, C: is on the motherboard controller, the disk is fine. Join thousands of tech enthusiasts and participate. Then get an old Linux distro and have it go through it's setup long enough so that you know it's been wiped and repartitioned. Also, In the Device Manager I see that there is a SCSI disk (it is an IDE attached to a Promise card) that has a gibberish label.
