I had to delete global.asax.cs and then added a new one by right clicking Project -> Add New Item -> Global.asax and THAT finally fixed it. I am accessing with domain credential and not with 'pass through' authentication. The problem was my .cs and aspx files were not added to the project. There is no solution file and no project file (not my idea).
