We finally wadded up paper towels under the machine and poured isopropyl (antiseptic) alcohol over ink pad and associated mechanism. It was printing a word document, double-sided (duplex print) and suddenly on the 3rd page, a big "crunch" sound. The "sponges" are located on the right under where the ink cartridge carrier "rests".

At first, removing the one peice of paper that WAS jamming and hitting okay would give you another try prior to getting the jam message again - now though, that error I'm reasonably technical but not especially so.
I have even tried vacuuming out around the output slot roller and inside but still no luck.
