You were able to run it on the 100mb partition so I would think the chkdsk command file itself is not corrupt. RunningC:\bootrec.exe /FixMbr from the command prompt in X: did not work but when I selected C: and typed in bootrec.exe /FixMbr from the C: prompt it ran successfully. error code = 0x490 time taken = 46ms tried rebooting with the cd and.. Reboot however brought me back in to System repair.

I think you want to try a chkdsk on the Win7 partition if it will run. When you do the detail partition commands below in the output will be a line for "Active".
