for the parser error problem!   After trying different solutions, i found my own solution.   Goto the properties of the virtual directory,   Goto the ASP.NET tab,   Choose version If I simply take the code in the .cs file and include it all in the ASMX (throwing away Code Behind logic entries) all is good. Does the rest of the site work.. Since that did not solve my problem I created a newly installed test server (Win 2003, IIS6) and published the same Web Service there...
